The Public Affairs consultancy will collaborate with the Rare Diseases Federation to develop a strategy for defending the organization’s rights

Madrid, December 2024. The Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases (FEDER) and Estrategos have reached an agreement to work together with the aim of raising awareness of the demands of people living with a rare disease or those still seeking a diagnosis.

The Public Affairs consultancy will collaborate with FEDER so that the federation’s initiatives and activities can be supported through a rights-based advocacy strategy. This approach will help optimize all the work being done to raise awareness of rare diseases and to seek political support to improve the daily lives of those affected.

“The knowledge of everyone who is part of Estrategos is something we also want to dedicate to helping and collaborating with people who suffer from rare diseases—who are numerous and diverse, with all kinds of conditions that affect many citizens, but in a fragmented way, since each of these diseases affects very few people,” said Francisco Jerez, CEO of Estrategos, who emphasized the importance of offering a strategic vision for FEDER’s goals and needs.

For his part, Juan Carrión, president of FEDER and its foundation, emphasized the importance of this agreement by stating, “FEDER was founded more than 25 years ago with the goal of giving a voice to the more than three million people in our country who live with a rare disease or are seeking a diagnosis. This agreement will undoubtedly allow us to continue advancing toward that goal and to defend the rights of our community more effectively.”

The meeting, held on Monday, October 16, was attended by FEDER President Juan Carrión; the association’s Director General, Isabel Motero; Estrategos CEO, Francisco Jerez; the consultancy’s Director of the Health Division, Pablo Pichel; and Estrategos health expert consultant, Paloma Pita.
